Wait, it's becoming a crossover now (or has it already been a crossover for a while?)?

Liberty is more carlike than other Jeeps (upon introduction) but it's still RWD based with a solid axle in the rear.

That's strange, I thought for sure the Alfa Romeo mule was to preview the Compass. Seems a bit small for the Liberty.

The Compass is getting the boot. The platform will have 2 variations in size for CUVs and the Liberty replacement will be on the larger of the 2.

Oh ok so there still is a smaller CUV then the Liberty being built on this platform. I knew I read somewhere that the Patriot and Compass were going to be traded of for just a singular CUV.

For some reason I thought they were still using the Compass name.

I'd think it would've made more sense to give the Patriot the boot, at least just based on what I see on the roads (I've seen far more Compasses than Patriots).

Though the Compass picked up steam for a few months with the new front-end for 2011, the Patriot sells better in general. I love the squared off traditional Jeep looks of the Patriot, so I prefer it out of the two. I'm glad they're keeping it.
