I wonder what Ralph Gilles (sp?) is going to do now?
I see a bunch of neat stuff in the distance...but 3 years till a new Wrangler? Really? At least drop a diesel in it!!
The 100 / Hornet is interesting (and needed). I'm surprised by the Caravan move...just seems odd to me...and, why focus your hybrid efforts in that segment?? The category is shrinking in favour of the 3 row crossovers.
I'd like to see a Hybrid 200 as well...

I disagree re: the Town & Country hybrid move. It's about dang time someone hybrid-ized in that segment. Toyota should have made that move a long time ago with the Sienna. The category is shrinking, yes, but that means those still competing will need to fight harder to get the customers who are still buying. Besides, I still see countless Odysseys, Siennas, and T&Cs on the road. Offering the T&C as a plug-in is a brilliant move in that regard, although I do agree we should see more hybrids in the lineup overall.

I agree w/ your perspective - but excluding luxury, there isn't a Hybrid in the CUV market (ex the Highlander - which is a whatever product IMO); so putting one there would leap frog the competition. The tech is likely easily transposable - so could show up in other products for sure.

Surprised that the Chrysler CUV takes three more model years to introduce. The Cherokee looks like a nice basis to build off and is available now.

Same with the 100, which I assume will be based on the Dart... : :

We have to wait two years for a new Minivan? That one has been out of date since it came out. I really think getting rid of all the pre-Fiat FWD Chryslers should have been priority one.

It's an exciting and promising plan all around. The only thing that concerns me is what will become of the SRT Chrysler 300 and SRT Jeep Grand Cherokee. I hope that those don't go by the wayside, especially now that SRT will be absorbed within Dodge division. Maybe they could still exist, but under a different name? The presentation stopped short of that part, for those two vehicle-lines.

Probably using the next gen. already as a base? As the Dart is derived from the Alfa Giulietta, which by the time the 100 arrives would be 7 years old (actually most reports hint at it will be dead in 2015/16), a revised platform could make a lot of sense. But oulling a CUV of the rather fresh Cherokee should still not take as long...

So this week's version of Marchionne's all new five year plan shows an excruciatingly slow roll out of product. The idiocy of taking a trim level SRT and making it a brand and then making it a trim level again shows that Marchionne has no vision. The minivans should be here already.
I wonder what next week's all new five year plan will be like.
