It looks quite attractive. Granted my analysis of the freeze frame versus the 2016 Edge may leave something to be desired, but I don't see the Edge shining through like it does on the current one.

Yawwwn, I'm already bored by this.

Is there even one new styling cue on it?

Just surprised they don't try to imitate the Range Rover Evoque/RR Sport style.

After all, there is little to differentiate the Evoque from the Escape, at least mechanically.

front lighting, tho not like the concept, is new

as for more than that
just-imho
the X is the completion of the current the design phase
and the Continental/MKS-replacement will begin the next
which
I basically agree with

Apparently the next MKS may be called a Continental according to one rumor floating around. Apparently Neil Young is somehow involved in the vehicle's sound system and he referred to it as a new Continental.

I for one would love to see Lincoln embrace traditional American themes because I think that is how Lincoln (and Cadillac) can compete at the premium level i.e. be traditionally American and be an equal alternative. I'm not saying retro.

Aside from the Fusion face, the new Mustang has a lot of 64-68 Mustang cues it it, but aged forward.

I for one have a fond wish they leverage the new Mustang for a Continental (traditional sedan), a Sentinel (coupesedan), a Mark (coupe), and a Town Car (larger traditional sedan).

Given that the new Mustang is not that radically divorced from the DEW98 platform from which it originated more or less, it follows that a new "DEW98" could happen.

since I'd be surprised if the D6/CD6/Whatever-Rwd will be ready for cy2016,
I'm hoping the Continental will SOMEHOW be a step above a direct MKS-replacement...
...like literally = 2(TWO) larger-than-Z cars
&
afaik, stretching the S550 that much is asking for trouble...
+
I've always heard that the only part of DEW98 that made it into the Mustang was...
...HALF of the floorpan

re: Names
think I prefer Constellation to Sentinel for a large, swoopy 4-door-coupe,
"TouringCar" (roadtrip!)(or ANYthing) instead of TownCar

Oh joy...

2019 facelift, now apparently following Citroen/Cherokee/Kona:

Ew. Why is Lincoln giving up on the last grille design? I thought it was quite distinctive and handsome.

Unfortunate changes for the MKX. It will go from being a bland-but-pleasant design to being a mainly-bland-aside-from-the-grotesque-front-end design. I don't know if that's an improvement or will bring in more customers.
