new dream car.... if only they'd put a stick shift back in the top line cars.

I used to swear by stick shifts, but these days an automatic with paddles offers more cogs and faster shifting when you want to go manual. On one hand I like to old school stick, but the writing is on the wall unfortunately.

on the race track yes. everywhere else, give me a short throw 6 speed.

Same here. After years of of driving manuals around in stop and start Sydney traffic, I bit the bullet and leased a VW Golf GTI with DSG and now wouldn't think twice of going back to a stick shift.
