I'm seeing last-gen Panamera had a love child w/ an Audi Q7 w/ some upcoming VW Arteon thrown in. I think it's atrocious.

However, the X6 looked horrible in photos but is wonderfully menacing and decadent in real life, so....

While I am sure it will be able to go offroad, this feels more like a crossover than a full SUV
In what way are BMW X5, Mercedes GLE/GLS, VW Touareg/Audi Q7/Porsche Cayenne/Bentley Bentayga more SUV than Crossover? Shape only? Because capability wise they are also only Crossovers. IMO Crossover better not look like SUVs, because then they are bad at everything.

Er, that's the thing. Crossover HAVE to look like "real" SUVs (body on-frame truck-based vehicles) b/c people (e.g., everyone sufficiently uninterested in cars to read a forum like this) want the elevated ride height and the perceived utility w/o actually caring about whether the car actually DELIVERS on that promise.

Squint your eyes and you can see Porsche Cayenne. I'm surprised Lamborghini would allow any of their cars to look like other VAG product. Having said that i am curious to see the finished product in HD photos.

There are very few VAG products that don't look like others. Bentleys minus the Audiyaga, Lamborghini Aventador, Porsche (so far); The Hurracan already has an Audi vibe in many ways, and the Urus manages to look still rather derivative CUV style without actually sharing the A/B-pillar structure and door frames with the Q7 as do the Bentyaga, Touareg and Cayenne...

And then we are still not talking the basically identical design language of the cheaper brands. Which is really a shame given the size, financial power and apparent design talent (they had De Silva, they bought ITAL Design, some of their concpet cars...), all that should do for more exciting and different looking cars

SUVs are Crossovers that look like 4x4. From a technical perspective (the most important one, who cares about deceitful marketing?), Crossovers are lifted vans/wagons/hatches and SUVs are unibody instead BOF.

Uh, from a sales perspective, the only thing that actually DOES matter is marketing....

No offense, but your definition completely confuses me. 4x4? Aren't most available crossovers available as 4x4? Did you mean true 4WD w/ high/low gear range and differentials so that you have better capability off-road?

Do you consider Mercedes M-Class to be an SUV or a crossover? Outside of the US, it's available w/ an off-road package that gives you the low range and differentials. What about the Mercedes All-Terrain (not available for sale)? That's definitely a (very) lifted wagon, but it's designed for off-road use. Is it a crossover or an SUV?

SUVs are (always) unibody? So what does that make the Escalade, last-gen Navigator, or Wrangler?
