Simple, understated and gloriously beautiful

Beautiful indeed. So functional and clean. Reminds me a lot of recent Lotus designs, and I mean that as a compliment.

I'm also shocked at how short this car is!

Wish they had a few photos from the driver's seat looking up and out since I imagine the canopy design makes for AMAZING views (and since I will never see that view myself, except through photos!).

A much truer successor, to the original Mclaren F1 than any current mclaren.

Show the staid German marques how it's done, again.

I'd say a functional design always tends to be more beautiful than those overdone "all show" designs that are quite a trend right now; There is a fundamental beauty to fine engineering, a reason why I'd say a classic, pre 90ies MErcedes looks a lot better and more expensive than those current "fake everything" models they produce. ANd that goes on for many brands or at least models.

ALso, size and weight are still the major no go factors for a sports cra, and a reason why any kind of "sports SUV" is laughable for me; Yes, brute force can compensate in the YOuTUbe favorite drag races (you need so much driver talent for a launch control drag race, you know), ad super stiff suspension can somehow limit body roll, but the rest of physics can#t be tricked....

Is it just me, or what is going on with those inconsistent panel gaps? Also, I find it a bit strange that there are only a very select handful of shots of the rear. Maybe they don't want to reveal too much of that yet due to the fan that is incorporated? (Edit: full pictures of the rear looking a bit Pagani-ish due to the central element can be found at different websites online publications)

The design looks like a baby McLaren F1 which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it kinda feels... incomplete. I feel they could have done something slightly different with the front because it looks rather 'Mclaren F1 meets Porsche' sort of way that makes it look rather generic.

I think the biggest shock for me if I were looking at it would be the price. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice little vehicle, but you can get a A LOT of car for 2.36 million. This is hypercar money for something that looks a bit too much like a 'back in the shed' job.

Edit: A full picture of the rear, courtesy of Autocar:

I find the design quite generic as there isn't anything we haven't seen in dozens of other supercars and hypercars that we haven't seen before.

I see a lot of Toyota MR2 mk3 at the front. Really, a lot.

Otherwise, this is a car with a purpose. It doesn't need to have fancy body flares all around. A less generic front end would have been welcome, but probably it has a shape and distribution aimed to weight as little as possible, just like the rest of the car.

YES! When I was looking at pics, I was thinking, "Something looks rather familiar about the nose," but I couldn't put my finger on it....
