Default Mercedes-Benz SLK Coupe

I wonder if Mercedes-Benz has any plan to build a Porsche Cayman fighter. By the way I would have called this the SLC if not for the fact that the next generation SLK roasters will be renamed as SLC. So who can help to suggest a name for this SLK Coupe?

As great as the quality of the chop is, I have to say it looks too stubby for my taste, but this is already to blame to the base car (I think the least attractive SLK generation so far, both in terms of detailing and proportions), and giving it a hunchback only stresses that impression.

The SLK renaming is idiocy anyway, yes, if anything at all, this should be a SLC (anyone remembers the LWB R107 Mercedes SL from the 70ies with a fixed roof, side chrome louvers that was called SLC? Did some rallying as well, comparably successful, though most of them ended up with huge golden wheels in front of lap dance bars...)

I agree it's a great chop but for me it's a no.

It has a bit of a turtle back and it is just not harmonious. It doesn't quite look like a proper Benz design.

However it would make a great replacement for the Mk. 1 SLK Coupe - the Chrysler Crossfire ;-)
