Default 2020 Hyundai Sonata

Can't find a thread for this, but new shot have surfaced.

Tail and part of the front can bee seen.

Older shots here: http://www.burlappcar.com/2019/01/20...sonata_28.html

Am I crazy, or are those tail lights nearly identical to the ones on the Civic?

My first thought was Honda Civic, as well, although the lights look less derivative in the link (lit up at night).

The angular front and tail and the heavy character lines seem a bit at odds w/ the very gently curving (and rather elegant) greenhouse. It has the potential to be quite a handsome (if somewhat bland) car and looks to be clearly related to the concept car (esp the tail).

If that's accurate, it's disgusting. Take of of the ugliest design elements of the busy/overdone Civic and copy it then throw on a BLAND front end. #DISASTER

It seems to be the same car as the one in the 2020 i40 thread, so likely both cars get merged for the next gen (it really made very little sense to have 2 nearly identical looking cars based of the same platform within cms of size); probably the 2 threads should be merged...

A couple more shots. Should show up officially pretty soon...

It looks a bit better here. The wideness of the grille helps it. Almost like the Audi Prologue concept. Rear lights look better resolved on darker paint. Eh.

Not liking the full-width tail light or how boxy the corner of the tail lights are. I'm getting major 1980s vibes. Inner corners of the headlights also look very odd to me (from the little I can see).

Whilst the face seems to be melting, I weirdly don#t mind the rear end; However, there is a strong Audi Sportback influence in the general stance IMO...
