The two things I saw that encouraged me were the assertions that the Tiguan would grow slightly and be less expensive. That should make dealers in NA very happy.

I don't believe these renders...the front just looks wrong, like something VW would have done 5 years ago

Well I'd agree, personally, about it looking dated. But it's pulled right off the very recent Cross Coupe concept.

To US eyes, VW is not a name associated to SUVs. Their current offerings just don't work here.

Will have to wait and see what VW does in the second gen Tiguan and Tourag.

*sigh*

It did cross my mind to render the new Tiguan base on the Cross Coupe concept. Guess I'm late.

Plus usually AutoBild is rather correct with their Volkswagen Group renders (leaving alone their usually recuring Polo, Golf etc. roadsters which stay fantasies

To me it looks like the face on a truck (see Amorak). What i mean it it looks more utilitarian and i don't see the Tiguan as such a vehicle tbh

No, it's not, but this doesn't mean that VW wants the Tiguan to look more "utilitarian" in the future. Perhaps as an alternative to the more elegant Audi SUVs (which aren't, of course), the SUVs of the VW brand could be more rugged to attract a different customership.
