Just as expected, a toned down version of the Concept A Sedan. I just hope the rest will be a little more exciting...

Meh, there is a reason why the are promoting the interior more than anything cause they know that is the strongest selling point. The exterior of the current car is nice but as some of my friends say it doesn't look any better or more premium than the majority of hatches out there. This new look may grow on me when i see it in the metal but it still looks a bit too mainstream for a Mercedes i think. Still, the A-Class has been a big success for Mercedes in many markets, including Australia, even though the CLA has been the biggest seller here.

All well and good but what will the non top end interior look like? or will that be the standard interior as is?

Non top interior never looks amazing in German products. It usually has enough places to remind you that you cheaped out on the vital options...

Examples: Base Audi A3 "infotainment"

BMW 114i without options:

Whilst Mercedes hides the base spec a bit better, you still don't have to search too long for cheap trim, missing functions or blank switches

I wish many cars did not come with all those crappy screens. My computers are enough screens for me, don't need any everywhere I lay my eyes on.
