I actually think the last Supra has a nice overall shape and stance ruined by some clunky touches. And it had a GREAT interior.

And even that slightly awkward design is still far ahead of most current Toyota designs....

IMO, the last Supra looked bulbous and crook, but yes, Toyota have produced plenty, including recently, that are far worse.

http://www.carscoops.com/2017/01/all...ht-winter.html

WIth the new Z5 shedding it's camo slowly, so is the brotehr form anotehr mother;

Taillights seem final units here as well, and kind of referencing the units form the popular mid 90ies model. Munich number plates on the development car and BMW wheels suggest this is mostly BMW under the skin though, probably the "Fiat 124" to the BMW "MX5" and not so much "co developed" after all....

The question is will the Supra get its own engine the same way the MX-5-based 124 Spider has its own Fiat engine?

I kind of doubt that. WIth nowadays optimized packaging, the engine bay will probably only be made for inline engines (BMW i4 and i6), and all larger Toyota engines are in V configuration if I recall correctly. The article also speculates on BMW engines, but - as said - there are runours of a Hybrid version, where obviously it would probably combine a Toyota Hybrid drive train with a BMW engine (i could very well see the Lexus LC solution of CVT and conventional box in use there as well)

Is it just me, or does it look a lot like an FR-S/BRZ?

I'm seeing cues to the 1990's (A80) Supra at the front and rear.
