May I say that black version looks surprisingly good, not only by Toyota standards?

This needed its own thread separate from the Corolla thread because...?

Do I see it has trimed door window frames? If so it is very nice. I do not understand how even the new 2nd gen Mercedes A Class gets away with bare metal exposed interior door window frames.

Its been on Toyota.com's site as a 2019 model for some time. https://www.toyota.com/upcoming-vehicles/corollahb/

I'm surprised they didn't stick with the Auris name for Japan.

This should be merged with the existing Auris/Corolla Hatchback thread.

Model Years work differently in Japan than in the US; this is the JDM version.

Not sure what part you're referring to?

The window frames on the inside - they have a mate black trim here, and some German premium cars (A-Class, Audi Q2,and all VWs and below) leave them exposed, bare metal in body color; It can look cheap and nasty, especially in cars costing as much as say a loaded A-Class or Loaded VW Passat; But it seems it becomes more acceptable, Ford used to have it in the Mk. 3 Focus, and no longer trims it on the new Mk. 4....

Would this be acceptable?

No it is not acceptable. It is a simple rip-off of customers that do not know better for the purpose of margin growth (make cheap, sell expensive). The trim is not there just to cover the metal, but to provide improved NVH characteristics, the main difference between an eco car and a premium car.
