The irony is that--in my opinion--the MKZ's center stack looks cheaper than the Fusion's with the automatic transmission buttons done in what looks like brittle, hard plastic.
We have to remember that the Fusion can be had nicely equipped for $25K whereas a Euro Passat would probably be at least $5K more expensive most likely.
The other difference across the pond is that cars this size are near-premium/premium whereas here they are normal, everyday cars.
I find the current Fusion interior a home run for style, quality, and utility. If they are going to upgrade it with a better design and materials, I will be paying attention.
I'm on my second, cheap-Fusion lease and could not be happier. Looking forward to the 2017.
