hmm that's ummm hmm...some things should just not be put into reality. I'd rather have a GTI 5 door for the money a Mini costs.

Not as attractive as I had hoped but sure it will sell like hotcakes since it's Mini's most practical offering.

Something about this just doesn't seem right both in terms of a Mini Cooper 4 door and the styling. The latter being that the proportions are not harmonious. The windshield is too raked, the roof is too low and the sills are too high which together make it look stretched like taffy. The body looks stressed as if it is susceptible to sagging in the middle.
This third gen Mini is just no match for the design brilliance of the modern first generation.

Absolutely. Even the ungainly Countryman sells hot (though i don't remember ever seeing a Paceman), but with it's Austin retro styling and 5 doors, it reminds me (If I'Äm beeing polite) more the ADO16 Morris 1100 and (if I'm beeing less polite) Austin Maxi than the real Mini.

Though somehow it is understandable that they don't call it the new Maxi

I swear, there's just something about this that looks horridly awkward.

Like, the rear half of the car just....... Uh.

Also, why bother having a middle seat, then?

Just a thought: have you seen that rear door? It's nearly unusable. And it's no lack of space, they could easily move the C pillar rearwards and get rid of the third window. Lazy engineering to go along with a bad commercial decision, if you ask me.

They should have hidden the rear door latches in the C pillar to make it look more like the 3 door.

I highly doubt that. It would make both side seat useless, and surely it has no ISOFIX anchors....
