much better in these pics than the car with the black wheels in the spy shots. interior is 10/10. the rear lights have weird angles but overall i like how crisp they made this car, which is much more like the original than the bloated and busy looking current gen model.

It's a substantial backward step over the current generation, and looks worse than the (less than great) first generation. The face is graceless; its side flanks are featureless (lacking say aggressive wheel arches or a distinct character line); and the tail (which looks way too droopy from the front three quarter view and inflicted with misshapen, ugly tailights) is an abomination. The exterior couldn't have turned out much worse.

I agree. Yesterday's pics looked pretty dismal. This looks terrific, if not my personal cup of tea.

SO much better than those other pics. I take back almost all the bad things I said about it. Almost...

I find it quite captivating. I wish I could afford one.

show me a white one with a black interior and I might change my mind, but my (dream) money is still on the new BMW 6/8 (whatever it's called) grand coupe...

I feel like the wheelbase is way too short. That rear overhang seems a bit rough

I agree it looks better in these pics than the Russian Mafia matte special edition. But still I think the aesthetic gain over a regular E-Class is rather small compared to earlier editions. and the CLS always had a bespoke, more upmarket interior, where this now has the nice but standardized Mercedes interior.
