I just read on the internets that there is a clause in i30N warranty contract which says that, if you take this "famously Nurburgring-developed hot hatch" to your local track - ylou loose warranty!

Actually most insurances and warranties void at track use (at least it does in the fine print of most cars I have owned so far, even those which you'd likely never take to a track; It certainly makes sense to point it out more clearly at these super hot hatches nowadays); That's not that much of a sensation. After all, track developed doesn't mean intended for track use, at least not in warranty terms;

That is what happens when people gob marketeers lies: sports cars are not track intended, SUVs are not off-road intended.

that would- and have- a lot of sense, if we are talking about (amateur) "competition cup racing"... but not if I'd just like have "fun" with my (not that cheap) hot hatch and would rather do that in a safe enviroment of a closed track, rather than on some public back road, where I can get fined for speeding, if nothing else more dangerous or horrible for me and other "unsuspecting road users"...
besides... if I crash my car on track it is between me and my insurance company! what are they affraid of... mechanical failure of their "Nurburgring" edition? why did they give it 250+ hp, diff. lock, "sport modes" and other stuff, if they don't want owners to "push" it? and what does that mean for all those that were "track driven" in all those magazine tests and comparisions with other segment "brats"? no more warranty?

Technically if you don't "abuse" it on the track, they will hardly know (not like an insurance where you have to say where the accident happened); But still, proper track driving will stress components way more,and usually void warranty, as it is "user induced" damaged. Just like no water resistant mobile phone will have water damage covered under warranty; It's the same with chip tuning - not every chip will stress the car more, but if they find out, it will void any warranty claims usually;
That said, at least in Europe, Hyundai/Kia do have an unusually long warranty, but are known to be among the more picky ones when it comes to violation (like even a day of having a scheduled service overdue will void the 7 year warranty)
