LOL ugly cars tend to be less so in white. The C7 is simply better looking.

I actually mostly agree that the design is too busy. There are some truly stunning mid-engine concepts in GM’s back catalogue that I wish they had looked to for inspiration. That being said, I still like the way it looks enough that I’d buy one if I had the money.

Robert Cumberford is indeed old.

He was hired directly by Harley Earl to work for GM as a designer in the early 1950s, when GM was arguably at the height of its powers. He also worked directly on Corvette designs during that period (https://www.automobilemag.com/news/p...rt-cumberford/).

If you consider his writing to be "noise," you would be alone in that opinion.

The design is nice enough, I guess. but it's a bit tacky/busy. It's not particularly original, nor does it seem to visually carry any Vette DNA, which are both major faults. I can't get over that interior strip of buttons. That's just idiotic having a row of similarly sized buttons in a line like that. You can't press the right button without looking directly at the panel.

I really do love this car, and the price is a huge part in that.

I do agree that it's rather mundane and lacks a certain "iconic"-ness that the old vette's had.
If they had kept the rear haunch up instead of bending it down along the tail lights, it would have succeeded more. Now it relies on the spoiler too much.

Absolutely love this angle though:

There's so much potential there to make that back corner really strong and clean, sans spoiler.

A multigenerational pathology of ungratefulness, old and young alike need to get a grip.

I think it looks perfect. It's proportions are sleek and aggressive. I can't wait for the ZR-1 version which I think might be a V8 Hybrid combo.
