And the teasing continues, in aa very weird move blindfolded journalists get to touch and stroke the interior to feel the quality - is that 50 shades of Audi ? ;)

There is a touchscreen between the rear seats as well to control their climate (and probably some infotainment purposes as well), but compared to the high gloss and vibrant new Golf and Skoda touch screens, that system in the Audi already looks a bit "colorless" and dare I say, previous generation. And that is the problem with luxury being defined as tech goodies, those age so rapidly, and cheaper cars follow with teh same or more tech in few years, luxury needs to be more than tha....

Well they are adding in a freaking foot massager to the rear seats. Also looks like most of the center console and dash will be pure screens. I'm also liking the new steering wheel and material finishes.

And it seems like Audi is pushing the "feeling" of luxury with this ad.

Wonder if some of the interior tech is shared w/ the Panamera?

Why are they having journalists feel the trunklid??? Is there that much variation among trunklids???

Likely shared with the Panamera and upcoming Bentley Continental GT (they have now journalists driving camoed prototypes, and in German AutoBild it was said the Continental will have the basic Porsche interior, though with different switchgear (bespoke) and a restyled center console. But tech including screens is shared)

The blindfolded journalists touching random parts is indeed a bit weird....

Which leave me wondering who in the market wants the excess madness of the LS 500's styling.

Apparently more than a few given that the LS easily outsells the A8, but here's the funny thing. I've read that the Genesis G90 does too. Who woulda thunkit?

In this segment you have:

S Class / style prestige presence / the one to have
7 Series / all-new 10-year-old styling
A8 / all-new 10-year-old styling
LS / out-there styling, but not without appeal / the one to buy if not getting an S Class
XJ / big ugly Merkur Scorpio hatchback-inspired homage
Quattroporte / nice but bland looking Chrysler 300
Genesis G90 / understated but handsome / the one to buy if not getting an LS

I happen to like the new LS and an LS500--I find--quite exciting.
