It will look like a Tiguan Allspace with a different front end (think Ateca grille attached) and different taillights. So probably not much different than the Tiguan (which I wouldn't call a mess, unlike the horrible Atlas)

(Official) photos of test drives:

For example on (german) Motor-Talk, but they can be found everywhere.

I'm sure the world was waiting for yet another MQB SUV, especially a Hyundai, oh , sorry, Seat front end on the not so highly praise Tiguan Allspace.

The world doesn't care about MQB or not, they just want SUVs no matter what, so it makes sense for SEAT to jump on the wagon, even if it is clearly a badge engineering job.
Most people won't even recognize that it is practically identical to a Tiguan Allspace, just with different front, rear and dashboard. And to be honest, it even seems to be working, much better than on the original I would say.

If it comes out better looking than the ugly Tiguan--easy accomplishment--slap on a VW badge and sell it as the Tiguan in theUSA.

I know the SUV craze, but I just feel that the Volkswagen group has altogether too many similar to near identical SUVs right now; All are based of the same platform, so differences mechanically are minor; there is very little in terms of separation between the brands, and seriously, between the 4,15m Seat Arona and the larger, half a meter longer Kodiaqs and the Tiguan Allspace and this rebadge, there is a more or less similar looking model every 3-5cm by a VAG brand (and then I'm not even looking at China, where this number triples or so); I just don't see where this will generate a single new sale for the group, it will if at all cannibalize a few Kodiaq, Tiguan and Ateca sales, but it's not like a customer shopping for a laregr MQB based SUV din#t have pelnty of choices already;

If tehre were serious differences in design, or say Seat only getting proper CUV coupes like a "budget X4" (what Renault will soon present), and Skoda kept the Yeti's upright, boxy "rugged" look, there would be a much wider array; But right now, I think the "Tiguan clone sharp edges" design is pretty much "overcatered" (heck, even the Lamborghini Urus looks a lot like one of those CUVs in grey...)

I agree with everything you said and its definitely very unsatisfying for car enthusiasts like us.
The Hyundai front and Kia back are probably no coincidence btw speaking of stealing sales :)
I hope, that with the success of Ateca and likely also the Tarraco for the next generation models SEAT will get more freedom to do their own thing in case of design.

I tend to get bored of these extended "presentation phases" with long test drives and press events half a year before we see the real deal; I guess with nowadays rather evolutionary model upgrades it should make the car more interesting than it is; But in this case, a rather not so fresh anymore Tiguan with a new face, I'm not sure anything can make that really interesting.

Much nicer looking up front than the dull, borderline ugly Tiguan's face.
