Default Hyundai Le Fil Rouge Concept

https://www.carscoops.com/2018/03/hy...ection-geneva/

A good looking design, said to revive a Hyundai coupe concept form 1974. But: Why is this a Hyundai, and not a Genesis? It seems the whole brand seperation game is as lousy as it is at VAG currently....

The RWD proportions are a head scratcher. This should have been the Genesis Model S competitor.
That said, this could easily give a preview of the next Sonata's style. Given that the stylists of the Sonata stumbled with the redesign and even their fix is a stumble, something needs to be done.

Feels very Italian in style Wonder how much of the design will translate to production.

It does, doesn't it? It has a Giugiaro / Italdesign feel to it.

It's very pretty, but very useless? What is the point of this? The last genesis coupe concept amounted to nothing after it was lauded with praise. Are they going to really make a Genesis GT coupe... under the Hyundai nameplate?? Good luck with that...

I agree, this should have been a more practical package (or at least a sedan) and previewed some EV tech. This doesn't make sense as a Hyundai (the badge alone looks goofy on this).

It's also hyper generic all around. It's hard to see how this applies to any of their lineup. I guess their cars will get more bland?

The initial 1974 Hyundai Coupe concept (shown to make the Pony, btw., also a Giurgiaro design, more interesting) was a Giourgiaro/Italdesign car, so making a homage vehicle should also feel Italian. I like the looks of this, the only thing i don't get is the badge, which should be a Genesis badge...

That first picture is an absolute thing of beauty.

The picture of the back doesn't land as well for me. You've got nice flowing lines -then hard angular tail. Weird.

Some see weird and others see provocative. To each his own of course, but arguably a flowing tail would have make it look rather generic whereas the styled-by-axe resolution makes it stand out.

While I agree it's weird compared to the rest of the design, the trunk design is actually highly reminiscent of the Genesis coupe.... With coupesedans being all the rage, I don't see why they wouldn't produce this. Does Genesis have a stand at Geneva at all?

I could see this being refined into a 4-door coupé to be sold under Genesis. An actual coupe would be nice for genesis too. If this is a nod towards their future design language and body styles it may be a good move
