In the USA, killing Buick and letting Cadillac take over the upper end of Buick and Chevrolet the lower end would make loads of sense.
Here, GM should be a three brand company with Chevrolet, Corvette (Porsche), and Cadillac (Lexus, BMW, MB).
More importantly GM has major problems with styling being compelling. Branding is terrible. Cadillac--the legacy American luxury premium brand--has no legacy names. Buick has "E"-named crossovers just like Ford. I have to wonder if bringing out new styling using legacy names would be a better strategy.
