Default 2020 Chevrolet Tracker

So, this ISN'T the Trax, but a similar model just for China, using the "Tracker" moniker.

Seems to match the teaser in the post below but does not match the prototype car testing in the states.

Noticed something interesting...

The grill doesn't seem to match a chevy, unless chevy will have a redesign but more like a buick grill, old Opel style. I wonder if this was also an opel before or perhaps sharing between chevy and buick? Unless the grill is fake but then why would gm leave those "wings" from the buick/opel grill on still?

Opel grill reference here

Thoughts?

Chevy needs intense help with styling. The lines on the side of this thing are disjointed and seem like a feeble attempt to make it interesting. The swept up belt line makes the rear look heavy and flabby looking. The tail light look like they are smashing into the back glass. Lowering them quite a bit would improve the looks. Overall a B.

I think you're looking at two different vehicles. The spy shots are of the next Encore, but this Tracker isn't the same car (it appears larger than the Encore/Trax duo), hence why they don't line up.

Here are other shots of the Encore for comparison:

https://www.motor1.com/news/265993/a...-encore-spied/

It seems like we may have seen this Tracker in camo form, but it was thought to be a GMC. It was spotted in Arizona, so they may have just been doing hot weather testing here, even if it's not destined for North America. Note that the grille/headlights appear to match the Tracker, as do the mirrors. There's also more length behind the rear doors compared to the Encore.

That is why I was confused why it had those elements. The test car in that link from carscoops is not a chevy but a buick, but they said it was a chevy.

Ahhh. Yeah carscoops has been slipping lately. They had a post the other day about a “mystery Lincoln crossover” coming soon...even though we all know it’s the next gen MKC/Corsair: https://www.carscoops.com/2019/01/ne...ext-two-years/

Chevy Tracker and Trailblazer teased...

Brighter

Do we have a trailblazer thread? Could not find one. Both to be unveiled in China on April 16th

I don't think we do, although other sources are saying the Trailblazer is just the Trax, with a different name for China.

Chevrolet needs a new and attractive face for its products.

They also desperately need to decide what that face IS/what their design language is and actually stick with it, like other brands do. Kia has the tiger nose grille, Hyundai had fluidic sculpture, Cadillac had Art & Science, Ford has the fish mouth (does it have an actual name?), Dodge has the crosshairs. Chevy has nothing that is consistently cohesive.

They have oscillated between the bowtie in the middle of a grill bar and a smaller upper grill without the "bar" on various products for the last decade...but then facelifts will do the opposite and re-introduce the bar or remove it for no reason (examples follow). It's clearly not to make the designs cohesive...because they can't make up their minds.

Impala (no bar):

Cruze (no bar):

Facelifted Cruze (bar):

Volt (no bar):

Spark (no bar):

Equinox (weird hybrid of the two, but more like no bar...facelift appears to bring it back):

Trax (bar):

Trax facelift (no bar):

Traverse (bar):
