Default 2018 Chevrolet Equinox

no. No. NO. NO. NOOOOO.

Ugh. Kill it with fire. (Interior is fine though)

Hmm, interesting. Not sure what to think of it yet. The surfacing is strange, very Malibu-esque but it almost looks a bit droopy from some angles. I thought I would like the front going by the spy shots but it has a somewhat challenged look. The interior looks quite good, although like the Malibu I'm guessing it will have too many hard plastics.

That being said, the powertrain options are intriguing, particularly the diesel. Hopefully the 9-speed transmission is better resolved than Chrysler's (I'm guessing it will be considering how much later it is).

The rear is reminiscent of the ML/GLE. I'm not sure how I feel about that Malibu-esque side surfacing. Otherwise, it's a huge improvement over the outgoing model, even if it's as generic as every other product Chevy has churned out lately.

The side surfacing is terrible. The Malibu grille is even more horrible here. If they would raise the grille and get rid of the upper grille which gives the impression of the hood being open it would be better. The chrome at the C pillar is strange. It's ugly, but better looking than the even uglier current Equinox. Why do people think black and baby crap brown pair well?

The side surfacing is interesting, but seems to work ok here. Overall, the exterior looks pretty clean and decent to me. And like others have said, it's a big improvement over the current generation.

About time they replace it. I don't really like it but it's better than the previous generation

The car looks good in profile. From other angles, there are strange bulges and the window line doesn't make sense.

I have some hope it'll look better in person (I think the Malibu looks MUCH better in person).

I also thought the old Equinox was odd- and cheap-looking from, well, every angle, so this is an improvement. It compete against CR-V types, yes? None of those are exactly lookers (aside from the CX-5).

THis is one of those designs where you have the impression at least 5 designers were working on it, without ever meeting up. And the some accountants threw in some parts bin goodies. Will work as a a rental car though....
