It would depend 100% on effective marketing. It could be a brilliant gateway into the "ultimate driving machine" mindset is played properly. The 2 Series coupe is a total market failure for the volume it needs to bring in to build BMW's base.

It's nit ugly, just very derivative looking, like a Focus/Kia cross; I'm already looking forward to fanboys how now the previously ridiculed small car setup of "3cyl. transverse engine/FWD" will suddenly be the ultimate driving machine setup (it can be fun, as proven by Ford and Mini, just the inline 6/RWD crowd would of course never admit it)

Ick, the inside looks nice but the exterior doesn’t do it for me at all. Unless it’s amazing to drive I’d rather have a GTI thanks.
