Everest was the name used by a concept SUV based on the Expedition right?
Anyway, in Asia Everest is the name of Ford's body on frame Asian SUV.

I think "Expedition MAX" is also under consideration

This looks to be about the same size as the Suburban. This should be a promising vehicle. Ford products (most) are pretty decent lately. I wonder what the gas milage will be like... They are smart to do a facelift at the same time.

Are you sure, because I think Explorer 97 works for Brenda Priddy.

To be honest, IMO that looks like an Asian built Ford Courier. Sort of like the Toyota Hilux and Fortiner, this car looks like a Courier with a back...

Everest is one name on the list...by no means a sure thing. Anything can happen with names. Remember a while back Subaru was going to call the SUV "B9X." Apparently everyone hated that because a few weeks before the debut it was changed to "B9 Tribeca."

Also I dont think Asian models will affect the style or name of this '07 SUV at all. Afterall there is still a Chevy Lumina over in the middle east. It's just a GTO with Chevy badges/grill.

Ford's Naming strategy excludes Everest. Either it will have an "F" name, or it will have an "E" name which roughly translates to some type of Journey (Escape, Expedition, Excursion... Explorer being a slight esception since it was the first, before the name system was established)

Though anything is possible, I think that with Ford honoring naming systems all the tighter, the name Everest will not see production.
