but these photos are low resolution with blown out highlight and no details.

Sorry, it is still ugly, if anything, that weird color only makes it uglier, as do close ups of the details

Fair enough. I like it, might have been due to the time I spent making a few renders of it, that it grew on me and fixed some of the main problems I have with the front on the current pre facelift version.

Wonder if all these leaks will lead to more stricter control of bmw media images in the future and private events.

Apart from the display, the interior is basically untouched - shame as it looks a bit dated and not that much premium.

The current generation of the 7 Series was a stupendous miss. This facelift does nothing to rectify that and if anything makes the stead of the 7 Series even worse than before.

Mercedes has not only won the segment, it owns the segment.

If BMW reconfigured the 7 Series as a kind of muscle sedan with some real value to the pricing, it would be a better alternative to the S Class, but as long as it tries to be just like the S Class, it is destined for continued failure to connect with buyers.

I think the main problem is that there is too much going on; There is nothing wrong with the basic shape of BMW interiors (I prefer it over the over edgy screen only plastic mess of recent Audi), but there is wood, chrome, machined alloy, piano black, quilted leather, some buttons painted silver, though in a slightly different hue, just too much for the sake of looking really premium; This balance of different colors and materials is something Mercedes tends to get a lot better, but even Audi, despite their recent love for hard surfaces and exploring cost savings....

Outside something I notice on many recent (German) premium cars the love for massive details, that bring also massive chrome parts, that just look plasticky (I guess teh chrome treatment just works convincingly to a certain size), and cheap, close up; This seems to be a really bad contender.
