That applies to a lot of makes right now, though, right?

Even if it's been photoshopped, I imagine it's probably close to the real thing. It's not like BMW (or any German make) has been setting the world on fire w/ their innovative exterior designs....

A car that no-one ever asked for... But I suppose you have to jump onto the small performance crossover wagon, in addition to every other niche dreamed up into existence...

It's pleasant looking but not good looking enough for the price BMW will command.

I tzhink BMW is currently watering down the M badge too much, they realized they can cash big time with gluing it on everything, but IMO in the mid term it will mean nothing. Same goes for AUdi S models (no one cares after 15 years of S-Line everything, now the RS models are what once the S were, which are somewhere lost as warm mid spec models), and Mercedes AMG models, now as tehy are starting to make AMG lines and AMG 43/53 and other watered down models.

Yes, but that's the definition of "luxury" (at least in the US), right? Providing something no one knew they wanted but that you now can't live without?

The GLC43 (and, of course, the Macan) must be doing well enough that BMW wanted a piece of the pie. Can't say I blame them.
