Default Subaru Viziv Performance Concept

For what it's worth (probably not very much given Subaru's past form), a preview of the next WRX:

What's the point with a Subaru concept? They show something that looks quite attractive usually and then produce an ugly production version. The perplexing thing is that their concepts look production ready.

While the Impreza/Crosstreck concepts did look better than production, they were production based concepts. Hopefully this will also be the case. But I'm still waiting the lifted BRZ Shooting to meet production.

Ceratinly this previews the next WRX, so it will fruit a production car (unlike a BRZ cross shooting break, which I doubt will ever happen).Trouble is, as you point out, that Subaru is one of those companies, that tease us with good looking, production read looking concepts that then carry very little to the respective production car (Hyundai/Kia and BMW also come to mind...)

The WRX Concept was a concept that looked production ready, but turned out to be a pure concept, not related to anything (or did it?). The Impreza/Crosstreck were production cars, with concept bits. BMW concepts are usually production cars with more or less concept modifications brought to them. Lately, BMW transforms its production cars into concepts very much; they do not simply change the lights interior design, but they also change to overall shape, they put shorter bumpers for smaller overhangs, they give the wheels a good stance, the interior is custom made. Once the true car is out, although most of it is the same, it just does not have that effect anymore. The Subaru BRZ STI Concept is a tuned/modified standard BRZ, but looks so different, much more modern and expensive. Of course this will be no different, unfortunately.
