Default 2019 Volkswagen Jetta

It somehow looks worse than it did in the spy pics of the undisguised refrigerator white version. Base price is apparently $100 less than b/f. Styling dowdy, but at least it appears to have an airy greenhouse. Apparently interior room has increased. Given that the interior was supposedly very big to begin w/, I'm not sure where that leaves the U.S. Passat....

I personally will wait to see what GLI brings.

Taillights look like a cross between a Skoda SUV and an Audi sedan while the fussy wheels remind me of the Honda Civic RS . Other than that i have never liked any of the Jettas. But i do find this a lot nicer than the super - boring outgoing model.

It's handsome enough, but not particularly interesting. I guess it's about what I expected. The interior is a big improvement over the current car - not that that's difficult - but is that fake stitching on the dash? Ick. I like the mood lighting though.

It's not unattractive in any way, but it's not special or modern. It looks like what a flashy Jetta would have looked like 10 years ago. This will be the Jetta that tanks the Jetta forever.

I wonder if the Passat is getting the "200" treatment instead of a replacement.

I'm undecided about the interior. I don't like VW or Audis move toward more lines and more geometric shapes, all of which comes off as VERY fussy to me. I feel like this interior was designed about the Lambo people on 1/100 of the budget they normally have. The over-the-top angularity in a Lambo is awesome; this just looks like it's trying a wee bit too hard, IMHO.

That sums it up well. Nothing wrong as such, just very boring and somehow a mix of other best selling cars (I see Ford, i see Hyundai, but I see very little "German"). Whilst now one who "receives" one as company/rental car will complain, itr will be very easy to overlook IMO in general...

The interior reminds me of the new T-Roc, that feels very plasticky in the flesh, and not of those high grade plastics. And the placement of the fake stitching is more or less invisible, just there so someone could tell his boss "now we have that too" (and probably we have the longest stitching in the class). VW doesn#t seem to be too confident about the interior too, given how all but one pree pics are full with light effects or dark just to show of (optional) LEDs and screens....

At least the warranty is up there with the industry standard now (well, for the US, us European customers don't need any warranty to speak about on super reliable German cars)

The exterior is a snoozefest and the interior is quite unattractive. Thankfully not for Australia.

I like the interior - quite nice.

However the exterior...the face is boring, the sides are just plain weird and the tail lights are forgettable.

A shame really.
