I have to say I like it a lot more than I thought I would based on the previous photos. Looks very modern, yet retaining the RR silhouette. I say good job.

I agree. I really like how the side vents have moved to the front door hiding the cars extra length.

Not bad not bad at all, I feel the imposing size will be more evident in real life.

It's very soft now, much more of an urban SUV than an off road one. If that's what the people want then it can't be helped, but it doesn't do much justice to the original concept of a Range Rover.

Given how much it looks like an Explorer I have to wonder whether this was styled by Ford before the JLR sell off.

I think you're seeing some styling trends that are similar but I honestly can't see how it can look like anything other than a Range Rover.

Also, Ford never worked on any LR styling, nor did BMW.

You may recall that Ford OWNED Jaguar/LR and to hold the opinion that they never had a hand in things just isn't supported by fact. Ford was VERY involved with both brands. The meddling in Jaguar does not apply here. The LR3 and the previous Explorer were quite related under the skin. As for skin, the new Rangie picks up current Explorer cues big time and cues that were not previously a part of Range Rover DNA the "Ford" headlights and tail lights are similar enough the beg the question.
