Great to have you back here MCLAREN. I am definitely waiting for your updates, it would be especially amazing if your sources have any confirmation sort of information about Bentley supercar concept possible unveiling at Geneva, also about Continental successor, rumors are that it is going to be presented this summer with sales start in 2011. Also it would simply more than great to know more about Bugatti concept, special Grand Sport that is going to be presented at Geneva, also possibly your sources collected more information about Grand Prix Veyron. It would be interesting to know more about Lamborghini JOTA/URUS programm, especially after we all saw spy pics of mule while testing.
Would like to add some information about special versions of current supercars, which are going to be presented at Geneva auto show - Lamborgihini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, Ferrari 599 GTO and Bentley GTC Supersports. Sad that Pagani C9 launch is not expected at Geneva accoring to recent interview with Horacio Pagani, I have posted a link to the original source.
So, MCLAREN, we are looking forward for your promised updates to this thread and also for your new thread you told you will start.

There's now much to look forward to when MCLAREN returns from this coming Sunday night and throughout the week with the new rounds of updates, and, of course the debut of his second thread, so, we'll all stay tuned.
This thread, "20?? Supercars" is sort of like the "Woodstock" thread of carspyshots.net, where it was started, spontaneously and phenomenally grew and took on a life of it's own!! More info will be posted as I see it, too.

It feels so good to be back ladies and gentlemen, long over due for my return, but I'm back to stay this time! With the start of this new year we will see plenty of news from the supercar world as well as my second thread which will be apart of this same section of threads under Industry News and Rumors!!!! But lets get to part 1 of the news update, and this 1 is for SupercarsFan, I know you've been waiting patiently for the news from Bugatti!!!!
Bugatti
Bugatti are currently running development mules of several models, but none more extreme then the Veyron Grand Prix, this models engine has been reworked to use E85, yes thats right this model will be a flex fuel hypercar, combined with 4 slightly larger turbos' and a higher revv count, rumored to be about 7,500 RPM's with power output slated to be slightly above 1200 BHP, expect the topspeed to rise to 268 MPH. The bosy will be made completely of carbon fiber. Expect active aerodynamics to be upgraded to help this model with handling as well as roadholding during cornering. My sources have stated to me that this models interior will be more race derived then ever before with a eye aimed towards the companies hertige. Expect the styling to feature small changes, such as fender vents to help get more out of the chassis surround as well as brake cooling.
Beyond this Bugatti are running development mules of the 16C Galibier, this model could have it'schassis developed by Bugatti as a corperate partnership with Bentley's next generation Flying Spur and Lamborghini's Estoque. This model will stay true to the concept, with power coming from a flex fuel capable twin supercharged 8.0 liter W-16 which is slated to produce as much as 975 BHP, which will allow this model a topspeed of 230+ MPH topspeed. The body of this model will be made of carbon fiber and aluminum as it was with the Veyron.
Still beyond this Bugatti are planning a new supercar. My sources have kept me informed on this model, but the big news happens to be that this model that we have called the Aerolithe, is a new mid-engined supercar powered by a new twin-turbo eco-friendly V-8 rumored to displace 5.0 liters and will be good for as much as 800 BHP, with this much power and weight being kept as low as possible( rumored to be close to 2700 lbs) this model may trump the Veyron in topspeed. Expect extreme styling on new levels, with cues taken from the Chiron Concept as well as from the classic Type 57SC Tank, that was being tested when Ettore Bugatti's son Jean was killed.
I will give news on will be the planned Atlantic GT, which will use a chassis like that found in the Galibier, but set to fit a 2 seat cockpit. This model will use the sameengine as the Galibier, which also makes it possible for production a varient of the Gabilier, so it could see production as well! This model will feature coach style doors with cues taken from the Type 57 SC Atlantic. So we could very well be seeign this model arrive as coupe and carbiolet version of the Galibier sports saloon!
Even more interesting then the models above this, si plans for a entry level sportscar currently rumored to be called the Brescia, which is a classical Bugatti name. This model would be based on the Porsche 358/ Audi R4/ Volswagen Bluesport chassis be it reworked for a larger engine namely a Bugatti tuned twin-turbo VR6, that is slated to be good for about 550+ BHP and a topspeed of about 210MPH. The body of this model would be made of carbon fiber and aluminum, and would be a coupe and a roadster, with plans for the GT/SS/Grand Prix model to go as far as 600 BHP. This models target weight is 2500 lbs. Expect this model to also feature a new duel-clutch transmission sending power to a rear wheel bias 4 wheel drive system. Expect styling to be unique overall design with no carryover from the Veyron at all.
Next update coming tomorrow afternoon, and you all won't want to miss it, it will cover Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Pagani!!!

Great to have you back MCLAREN and to read reports about one of the best supercar makes in the world. As usually I want to say thanks for your hard work collecting all this information.
Speaking about Bugatti update - news about Bugatti presenting more powerful flex-fuel version of Veyron appeared in the internet recently, those reports suggest that it could be launched at this Geneva auto show together with Individualization program for Veyron Grand Sport. Speaking about future Bugatti concepts, are your sources sure about using Continental FS and Estoque chassis elements for Galibier 16C? Those cars are so different in size and other dimesions, that usage of same corporate chassis elements sound a little bit unreal. I still believe that Galibier will feature bespoke chassis to justify the price tag and exclusivity level. Speaking about Atlantic GT concepts, it is great if Bugatti will have more variants of Galibier, it seems logical to built coupe and convertible using same chassis and same tech. Any news about when we can expect Atlantic GT concepts presentation, at Geneva auto show? The last thought is about small Bugatti sportcar, I am not excited, I do not want to see Bugatti going downscale, it is not a right way in my opinion, I totally agree with Bugatti CEO Paefgen words he told in recent interviews that he is not seeing the way of Bugatti going downscale.
With all that said, I am waiting hard for your updates about Lamborghini, Pagani and Ferrari. I am especially interested how the developement of JOTA/URUS is going on.

It's also great to see you getting the thread moving into full swing again, MCLAREN!!
I can also see where a chassis can be developed for the Bugatti 16C Galiber, next-generation Bentley Flying Spur and the Lamborghini Estoque, for the Bugatti 16C Galiber is 211" in length and the current Bentley Flying Spur is 208" in length, and the next-generation, which could even share componenty the the new-generation Audi A8 LWB, which itself is likely to now be the same overall length as the current Bentley FS, could mean that the next-generation FS could slightly expand, resulting in the FS and 16C Galiber being similarly-sized and proportioned, though the Bugatti sedan may have a longer hood and shorter deck with the hatch, versus a trunk for the Bentley, and of course, the new Mulsanne will be a bit larger. The Estoque is the size of a Lincoln MKS lengthwise, though the Estoque would sit lower, but I could see where it would share the same underpinnings, though contracted a bit for the Lambo sedan.
As far as the report on a possible baby Bugatti, sharing an Audi upcoming R4 chassis, that surprises me, too, for I had thought that it was made clear that Bugatti is more exclusive and bespoke and no such model would be considered, Maybe they want to expand the range... who knows.

Thats just it Bugatti making a entry-level model, which would be powered by a twin-turbo V-6 would sell as few as 600 of this model, priced about $300,000, this model would weight about as much as 2500+ lbs.. so it would make perfect sense to bring this type of sportscar to production.
Ferrari
Ferrari has started the final development of the FX70, which will be powered by a twin-turbo direct injection 5.0 liter V-8 that will be good for 796 BHP. My sources have stated that a 0-60 is slated for about 2.96 seconds and on to a topspeed of 240+ MPH. The 1/4 mile is likely to come at a Veyron-sque 14.0 seconds! My sources suggest that the chassis a will be completely made of carbon fiber, and will be attached to carbon fiber subframes, to keep weight as low as possible. My sources have stated that the target weight is slated for about 2500+ lbs. with a estimated topspeed of 240+ MPH, my sources say this model could very well trump the Veyron if Ferrari gets the configuration right!!! Beyond this we are looking towards the reveal of the 612 Scaglietti successor which will be a 2+2GT with a front mid-engined twin-turbo V-12 displacing 4.6liters and will be good for 630+ BHP and should have a topspeed of 200+ MPH. Thismodels chassis will be the next generation aluminum spaceframe which will also feature a floorpan of carbon fiber which will help lower the center of gravity. This same chassis be it a slightly shortened version will underpin the 599 GTB successor and the Ferrari California. MY sources have also stated to me that the California HGTC will recieve a facelift and will also likely switch to the 458 Italia's 4.5 liter V-8 that will produce no less the 530 BHP, beyond that we will see the Scuderia version of the 458 as well as the Spider.
Lamborghini
Lamborghini has entered the final stages of development for the JOTA, which will be a even more extreme supercar then the Murcielago. My source close to the project hve stated to me that the prototypes that were recently shown Winter testing show large side vents set just after the doors! My sources suggest that those are for dramatic effects, in fact this model will have opening and closing ducts( remember the ducts on the Cadillac Cien Concept) these ducts will open when the car is driving to help keep air-flow into the engine bay. With this direct injection 6.0 liter V-12 producing 700 BHP the air will be put to good use. The body panels will be made of carbon fiber, to lower the power to weight ratio overall. Expect this model to also feature advance levels of active aerodynamics for better road holding and improved handling. The new E-Gear transmission driving all 4 wheels will also improve shift times by 20 milliseconds and the fact that the 4 wheel drive system will be a rear wheel bias set-up will be liter then the current unit. Beyond this Lamborghini has started work on the Gallardo successor which will feature reworked version of the current V-10, which will likely add direct injection and possibly be enlarged to about 5.5 liters and will be good for as much as 600 BHP in top-tier models such asthe SL/SV of this models range. The chassis will be a aluminum spaceframe and will be just slightly larger then the current model for improved legroom. This model will use a slightly slower version o fthe JOTA's E-Gear and 4 wheel drive. Unlike the current model my sources suggest that this time around this model will recieve scissor style doors over convential doors to help it stay true to Lamborghini heritage. My sources have also stated to me that Lamborghini could very well get the Estoque sports saloon, based on the Bentley Flying Spur chassis( which will be a aluminum spaceframe with steel re-enforcement structures front and rear) with power going to all 4 wheels. Power will come form a version of the next generatio Gallardo's V-10 with no less then 620 BHP which should be good for about 205 MPH!!!! Beyond this the URUS is currently moving ahead in design form as we speak, with the launch of the JOTA then we will see just how far the URUS will be developed, since it will share a chassis and engine with the JOTA, be it tweaked for more power and performence over all! Th styling will be unique to the URUS also! Also expect this model to be a very limited production with no more then 50 or so being made to for the full prodution run!!! My sources are saying horsepower close to 760 BHP and if this is true the Ferrari FX70 will be the likely target!!!
Pagani
Pagani as we all know are planning the release of the C9, and as I have heard it upon the reveal of this model the offical name shall too! My sources have seen several prototypes leaving and returning to the new facility! My sources have also seen several commissioned Pagani Zonda's being finalized at the old facility. My sources have confirmed that the C9 will use a AMG developed 6.05 liter V-12 that will produce 700+ BHP and will be good for a topspeed of 230 MPH. This whole supercar will be made of Carbon-Titanium, meaning both body and monocoque chassis. The suspision will be developed with the help of AMG to improve handling with Pagani developing it further. My sources also state to me that Horacio Pagani will reveal this model late this year, instead of at Geneva, namely because the Zonda Tricolore will be revealed at Geneva for the public to finally see the limited production supercar. My sources have also stated to me that Pagani are currently researching another AMG engine for a entry-level sportscar, that would be built in greater numbers then the C9. My sources suggest the engine of choice is the AMG- Pagani tweaked version of the current 6.2 liter V-8 that will produce no less then 600 BHP.
Next Update from Germany, news of Mercedes-AMG, BMW, and Auto Union's supercar, so stay tuned for this news!!!!

Amazing news update covering my favorite supercar makers. Great to see Lamborghini moving in such a great direction, this sounds like a model line most of Lambo fans dreamed for years. There is one quite interesting link to Autocar inside information about JOTA, they suggest it will feature bespoke CF chassis and will be absolutely cutting egde in technology it will offer inside and outside. Also I want to mention that Murcielago production will end mid-summer, than production line to be updated for production start of the JOTA. I have few, questions still, first is in what period of time after JOTA launch, we can expect URUS going to production, and second question is if there will Roadster version of JOTA?
Great news about Pagani also, only one thing really bothers me a lot is an engine option, as we all know rather heavy, low revving engine is not quite the best option for lightweight supercar, but I guess Pagani knows what he is doing and this car will be another masterpiece in both looks and specs.
Absolutely exciting news about Ferrari, according to the news appeared we can expect FX70 to be launched next year, with Spider version of 458 also coming next year. In short term Ferrari will launch special edition 599 GTO at this Geneva auto show.
Speaking about Bugatti, I am honestly not excited with they going downscale and hope this project will be canned. Bugatti must stay at the very top of an automotive world and cheaper car only will hurt brands image.
And I would like to know more about Bentley supercar developement, as well as is the prototype coming to Geneva?

I hope Lambo won't ditch the scissor doors, that's my biggest fear. If they do, it will change Lamborghini completely. Yes, a Lambo without scissor doors is just isn't as good as the one with them.

That was a nice, enticing and thorough update!!
As far as the "entry-level" Bugatti mentioned in the previous update; it's unexpected, but, I'm OK with it as long as it's built along with the top Bugatti models, and not taking the place. If there are C16 Galiber mules in existence, then it appears that this will be a go! I'm personally hoping that the C16 Galiber is built along with the Areolithe, and the rumored/reported Atlantic Coupe variant of the C16 Galiber gets the green-light, too; this would even help further to justify the development costs.
On to Lamborghini: A nice update in the previous post, but there is something that concerns me about Lamborghini; this is according to recent reports that appeared on several automotive news and enthusiast sites, stating that they're to pursue performance via lighter weight rather than increasing HP. This concerns me for I'm hoping that this won't mean de-tuning or humbling of a Lambo's power. I can see and support the advanced and exotic materials such as more aluminums, titaniums, carbon-fiber, etc., and any type of applied tech such as start/stop, but I hope that doesn't mean less power, at least I hope they would keep it the same or cap it if needed, not go down.
