If they are working on a new Capri, I wonder how it will look like?
Futuristic like the chop above or a bit more retro like the 2004 Ford Visos concept?

Frighteningly bad looking and very much as not a Capri as the new Scirocco is not a Scirocco.

with vents on the side, I'd guess it is mid engined? The design is odd, but the work done on the car for the chop is ace.

The original Capri was well known for it's dummy side airvents. I would be surprised if this was mid engined

hmm I see your point in photos of the original. I retract my statement then. The original has slightly different dummy vents, while this one has almost vents designed for cooling.

oh well. btw where has a front like that been shown before, I know i've seen something similar on a concept in the last couple of years.

U seem to be forgetting the Ford Kuga which is also on sale and not a concept

The vents are obviously positioned there as a design element like the vents behind the front wheels of an S-Max.
That chop looks fine to me although i don't think the front is very realistic given Ford's new design language, it looks more New Edge than Kinetic (front)

The back of it reminds me of both the Ford/Mercury Cougar and the StreetKa in some ways, again it looks pretty flashy and fine to me but kinda New Edge again.

swizzle i disagree with you (as usual lately!) that a) this look horrible and b) that this is no more Capri than the new Scirocco a proper Scirocco unless when you look at a 3-door Focus you think this looks no more sportier than that. My grudge with the Scirocco was that it could have very easily been a Golf but i doubt anyone expects the next Focus to be as muscular, butch and aggressive as this. It could very well be a Capri and seeing the color scheme of that chop (obviously from ST) the recent "Italian" Mustang concept also came to mind..wouldn't it be cool if the new Capri and next Mustang shared showroom space?

edit: on that note i read the Capri is supposed to be out by 2012 right? Could there be any chance it would sit on the chassis of the all-new Mustang?? That would be PERFECT
