BMW 5 Series GT Concept

motor-talk.de
WOW! I must say I didn't expect this... but I totally like it! And if those tail lights and general shape of the trunk and the rest (from waist below) will make it on the new 5 Series as well then I'm even more WOWed!

I've repeatedly indicated my distaste for BMW's way of contriving "innovative" new vehicles that solve nonexistent problems, and this is perhaps their most brazen attempt. I despise it on principle alone, but the fact that it is ridiculously weird looking doesn't help matters.
Still, I agree about the rear lights; I'd like to see them on a vehicle that makes even the slightest bit of sense.

Without the third rear window and the hatch this would make a great new 5 Series IMO... and I hope this is how the 5 will be after all.

i don't know, something tells me this is just a photoshopped 7 series for now. It is hard to tell at this stage but I'd need to see higher res images and more angles to be convinced

Yeah I agree on the photochopped 7er, that or BMW is going back to 1-sausage-3-length approach to cars.

It's not exactly a 7 Series clone. We'll see. It has BMW design cues, of course they all look rather similar, but not exactly like they did in the 90s.

Yo do know thats the back of the car, right?
Not looking too bad IMO, seating position looks to be higher than I expected, maybe its the deep wheels, but it has more of a SUV appearance than I expected.

Mm from what I can tell, it has the 7er tail lamps, rear bumper/exhaust treatment, rising up kick at the bottom of the door, chrome plate between the front fender and front door, and high-mounted crease that incorporates the door handles. The proportions are different, obviously, but from what I can tell it's a 7er with a hatchback roof. I really really hope I'm wrong though because even though I agree with Domino in that this car is USELESS, it does probably light the way for the 5er and I really hope that car isn't a direct clone either.
