Thanks for clarifying, but my comment still stands. I just think its odd that the Transit Connect is adopting this face, but this T Series isn't.

I doubt that. The Transit brand is well-received in Europe, so why change it? I think it's rather going to be confusing to have a Transit Connect, a Transit Custom, and a "normal" Transit.
In the US, it probably makes sense to call it T150, T250 etc. in order to push it closer to F150 etc. and therefore let it appear more rugged. But what do I know...

These two would have to be the first Ford patent render leaks IIRC? All good runs come to an end! lol
Anyways, I think I can see the US compromise in the front, but it still will be a good looking van!

Actually tehy could ghave been visually more similar in man ways. As pointed out in a post, the RWD Transit/T-series looks closer to the current model than the smaller FWD Connect. I see no real technical necessity for that nose, I guess it is to make it look more "rugged" than the car like Transit COnnect.....

I wonder why it has to be so different from the Euro version. Maybe "One Ford" doesn't apply so much in the commercial vehicles class?

It's probably because most Americans would find the term pretty truck oxymoronic. This being one of Ford's trucks, it should look like it fits in with the other trucks Ford has on the lot.. Besides "One Ford" should not necessarily have to be a straight jacket for styling.

That said, I do wonder if the US will have a different nose to accommodate the V6 Gas/petrol/essence powered versions.

The Ford Tourneo is a small minibus (8-9 seats) entirely based on the Ford Transit van (not to be confused with the full size Ford Transit minibus).
|
That led me to believe they're the same vehicle just one has passenger seats the other doesn't. Like Econoline and Club Wagon used to be.
