Funny how back in the 80s and 90s, some of the prototypes were not even covered up with much effort. Granted the 3 series was already released before the compact right?

Cool thread! There was an old photo of a BMW prototype convoy - one member being the Gen 1 X5 LWB or X7 - neither of which came to production.
